Jane Parry, PhD
Jane is an analyst and writer with multi-sectoral expertise in health, development, and finance. She has extensive experience working with multilateral development agencies, the UN system, and private sector clients.

Clients use her impact studies, thematic knowledge products and publications to advocate for investment and shape public policy on health and development in Asia-Pacific and beyond. Her writing is engaging, impactful, and written with both flair and analytical rigour.

Jane’s academic research interests focus on poverty and health. She is an Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, Department of Family Medicine and Primary Care, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong Faculty of Medicine, Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care.

Her multi-sectoral expertise means she situates public health and development issues in the wider economic and public policy context. Specialist areas of knowledge include social determinants of health (especially poverty), health and climate change, post COVID-19 recovery, public-private cooperation for development, innovation for development, and economic and social equity.

Jane is based in both Ontario, Canada and Hong Kong. She works globally, with a focus on Asia and the Pacific, where she has lived, worked and traveled for more than 30 years.

Jane has a PhD in Health Studies from McMaster University, Canada, a Masters of Public Health from the University of Hong Kong, and a BA (Hons) in Modern Chinese Studies from the University of Leeds, UK.
