Originally from the UK, Jane has lived in Hong Kong since 1989. She has a Masters in Public Health from the University of Hong Kong and a BA (Hons) in Modern Chinese Studies from Leeds University, UK.

From 1994 to 1999 Jane was the Asia Representative for UNIC (Unione Nazionale Industria Conciaria), the Italian Leather Industry Association, and its related trade fair, Lineapelle
For UNIC she provided research and news on the tannery and leather goods industries in Asia and acted as its local liaison and contact person.

For Lineapelle she gave presentations to manufacturers and regional trade associations on leather industry fashion trend predictions, produced a multi-lingual fashion trends newsletter and promoted the bi-annual Lineapelle fair, the premier leather industry event in Europe.

From 1991 to 2000 Jane was a contributing editor for AsiaPacific Leather Times and subsequently Leather International Magazine traveling extensively around Asia and in Europe to cover the tannery and leather goods sectors.
